It’s fun to capture multiple aspects of family history in your photographs. This was the first day of kindergarten for my son, with a backdrop of another piece of our history … my grandfather’s car. The 1950s Plymouth has now passed on to the third generation and someday it may well belong to my son. For some reason, it just seemed right to capture this as we were out the door on our way to school.

Connecting the present with the past in your photography can take lots of forms and is not hard to do. Think about the people, places and things that have special meaning to your family. Plus it gives you a chance to talk about the past in a way that lets your kids connect with it more personally.
